Someone told me that I do not need to replace the belt on my 2004 Toyota Rav4 FWD because it is not a belt drive but a chain drive. I though chain drives were only used in bicycles and motorcycles. I also have one unrelated question. How does the car switch gears at such high rpm speeds without breaking the chain / belt. What about when it is on the interstate and you are going like 60 or 70 and for some cars it is finally going into 7th gears. At such a high speed i don't see how the chain doesn't break.
