Question about a mazda speed3?

ok this has been bugging me for a while now. ive been looking at mazda speed3s and in some of them the description says rear locking differential when the car is fully fwd. are the dealers just idiots and put that in for no reason or whats the deal with having a rld in a fwd car which makes no sense since all the power is at the front wheels?
