Why does it hurt sooo muchh when i take out a tampon??!?

Please help! so its my time of the month and its my 2nd day. so today after school i put in a tampon and it felt alittle weird going in like it hurt alittle bit but i got it in after like 10 minutes. ( this is my 2nd time using a tampon, my 1st time was last night, and i was like really happy that i finnaly got one in! it felt alittle weird, like i could feel it when i moved, but i just thought it did because it was my first time. then about 3 hrs later it was time to take it out. and when i pulled the string it hurt Sooo badd! so stopped and tried again about 1 min. later and it still hurt as bad! i was like agonizing in pain alittle. but i kept on trying and finnaly got it out! but it still hurt alott!! to take it out! So then the same thing happened tonite (like just a few minutes ago) i put 1 in a few hrs ago and then decided to take it out when it felt funny. (as in like i was leaking) so i tried and wasnt really looking fwd to it because i remembered how much it hurt last time. but i tried anyway and it hurt even worse! this time and it wasnt even dry or anything because i was pretty much leaking.. it felt like the tampon was stretching out the inside of my vagina! it did hurt alittle going in tho but not that much and i could feel it alittle also when i moved. but when i took it out it hurt alot!! and i tried everything! like trying to spread the whole to be bigger so it wont hurt as much and would be easier to come out etc.. but that didnt really work but i finnaly got it out after a while and after i did my vagina was like burning!!! i was almost crying! now im not so thrilled about using tampons :/ . but my question is why! did it hurt sooo much to take it out! and how can i make it stop?! please help ! it hurt so much :'(
