Could this be a marketing scam?

i received an sms saying that if i fwd a marketing related sms to 250 ppl evryday for a month i can earn upto 7k. the sms to be fwded and the numbers to which im supposd to fwd the sms will be given to me. the company is based near chandigarh.could this be a scam? have you ever done this?
